• Either in the search for food, mating or to protect themselves from the severe weather. Birds that come to India in the winter season are the Siberian Cranes along with the Greater Flamingo , the Black-winged Stilt , the Common Teal , Common Greenshank , the Northern Pintail , and the Yellow Wagtail , the White Wagtail , the Northern Shoveler , the Rosy Pelican , the Gadwall , the Wood Sandpiper , Spotted Sandpiper , the Eurasian Wigeon , and the Black-tailed Godwit  etc.  

• And the birds that come in the summers are the Asian Koel , and the Black-crowned Night Heron , the Eurasian Golden Oriole , the Comb Duck , the Blue-cheeked Bee Eater , the Blue-tailed Bee-Eater , and the Cuckoos.

• As in the northern hemisphere, the birds tend to follow specific routes such as the mediterranean sea, Siberia and these prefer to fly at a higher altitude to get a good tailwind and form a V-shaped pattern.
