• Mr Herriot who is the narrator of the story A Triumph of Surgery is a veterinary surgeon. As an individual, he is sensitive, full of sensibility and tolerance. He in beforehand advised Mrs Pumphrey to reduce Tricki's diet but when she doesn't do so, it is his discretion to divulge Tricki in the hospital and it is his sensibility that he comprehends that Tricki is sick only because of overfeeding.

• The most impressive thing about Mr Herriot was that he was a genius veterinary surgeon and he was a true human being and an extremely sensitive person. He knew how to rectify people, he even adjusted himself well to the situations.
