Answer:
Santosh is the only woman in the world who has scaled Mt. Everest twice.
She was a rebel from the very beginning. She was born in a traditional family in a small village of Joniyawas of Rewari district in Haryana. But that did not stop her from living her life on her own terms. She was rational and ambitious. She was courageous enough to fight the existing irrational norms and customs of the society. Where other girls wore traditional Indian dresses, Santosh preferred shorts. She was smart in figuring out the solution to her problems and did not yield to the traditions when her parents forced her to get married at the age of sixteen. She was sensible enough to convince them to let her pursue higher studies instead. Her parents refused to pay for her education; she politely informed them of her plans to earn money by working part-time to pay her school fees.
She prepared herself enough to deal with any obstacles that came her way. She was emotionally stable and mentally strong. She took admission in Uttarkashi's Nehru institute of Mountaineering without seeking permission of her parents. Apart from her as a climber, her concern for her fellow climbers and the desire to help the ones in need defined her more as a strong and considerate person. Her resistance to cold and altitude, iron will power, physical endurance and mental toughness enabled her to climb Mt. Everest twice and reach the pinnacle of success. Her determination, passion for work, dedication and strong will-power are the main traits which made her a successful woman. Her life teaches us that we can also touch the sky and achieve our goals if we are determined and honest with ourwork. Despite the problems and obstacles in our path, we should not lose hope and give our best.
