Arthropoda is the largest phylum of kingdom animalia .they occur on land ,in sea water ,in fresh water and in the bodies of animals and plants as parasites .
Body;it varies considerably .they have jointed legs .the body is segmented externally.the body consists of head ,thorax and abdomen.
Body wall;the body is covered with thick,tough,non living chitinous cuticle as exoskeleton.
Body cavity;the true coelom is reduced in adults and is only represented by the cavities of reproductive and excretory organs.the body cavity is haemocoel.
Digestive tract is complete.the alimentary canal consisits of stomodaeum,proctodaeum and mesenteron.
They respire by gills or book gills in aquatic form and trachea or book lungs in terrestrial forms.
Excretory organs are green glands or malphigian tubules.
Complete absence of cilia .
Internal fertilisation.
