Brief note:

The Mundas were living in the reign around Ranchi which is now the capital of Jharkhand. The khunkattidar system was destroyed due to the coming of Jagidars and thikadars who are the contractor. The monsoon failed and the situation became worse by the last decade of 19th Century. The Mundas faced starvation and death type situation as they rose up in rebellion against the Britishers.

However, Birsa Munda was captured by the Britishers in the year of 1990. He died in captivity in the ranchi jail.
