A chief executive officer (CEO) is the highest-ranking executive in a company, and their primary responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and resources of a company, and acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and corporate operations.

Chief Executive Officer and his responsibilities:
- The Chief Executive Officer is the managing head of any firm or company. They are also the chief of administrative officers of the firm. He is responsible for success or failure of the firm.
- All the leading companies of the world follow a hierarchical setup in which the subordinate members report to their seniors. As a result of which we get different positions in a firm, from an intern to Chief Executive Officer. The CEO of company looks after the corporate affairs, the administrative problems, and they are also the head of a management team.
- They report to group of members which includes the head of firm and the MD of the firm, etc. They play a huge role in success of the firm as most of the works regarding the management and firm's corporate policies are looked after by them.
