Dividing and rule was a type of policy mainly used by britisheers in India and by briticheers in Itly ove 2 groups Catholics and prostitiens. This is a type of policy in which people generally divide any united group . First they make a missunderstanding between them and then they try to divide them and after dividing they started ruling on them because after dividing their power reduces and it become easy to outsider for rule on them.

hope it will help you
