Answer:

The Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic where the main story revolves around two branches of a family - the Pandavas and Kauravas - who, in the Kurukshetra War, battle for the throne of Hastinapura. The Mahabharata literally translates to 'great India' because this is an epic which ultimately gives the reason as to why India was named BHARAT. The story gives many morals of kindness, patience, intelligence, brotherhood , unity and most of all the dignity of women because the most catastrophic war was fought to re-establish the same. The epic is narrated by Veda Vyasa . The holy book of 'Bhagavad gita ' originated from a conversation between Arjuna , a pandava brother and Shri Krishna , this book is an explanation of the  ventures of life and gives the answer to the question How to follow dharma(righteousness) in the journey of life? However there are many not proven theories attached to this classic and different cultures follow many variations of the same. But, this chain of destiny was created to show the world various qualities that build ideal men and women.
