Hi!
Rowlatt Act 1919
It was passed in 1919. The Indians expected swaraj after the first world war ended in 1918. This act passed by the Government to imprison anyone without a trial and to search any place without a warrant. People called this 'Black Act' and newspapers called 6 April 1919 'national humiliation day' and it was followed by strikes and hartals in India.
Thank You
