1. India has a federal structure

2. Powers are divided between the centre and the state.

3. All the states are under the centre , but however they have powers of their own.

PS - sorry only 3 points came to my mind. I could remember one vaguely though. It was something about two lists. One on which the state could act and other on which the centre had powers. You could search that and make up points. The last one could be the examples of the subjects on the list
