Soils are complex mixtures of minerals, water, air, organic matter, and countless organisms that are the decaying remains of once-living things. It forms at the surface of land – it is the “skin of the earth.” Soil is capable of supporting plant life and is vital to life on earth.

Soil is one of the natural resource which is readily available to us. It provides nutrients, minerals to the plants in order to give us (humans) food. Soil plays a major role in our day to day life. There are different types of soil in different regions. For example alluvial soil,red soil,black soil etc. we can also say that is soil is ‘skin of earth’. soil is vital to life on earth.
