1999 Odisha cyclone. The 1999 Odisha cyclone (IMD designation BOB 06, JTWC designation 05B) was the strongest recorded tropical cyclone in the North Indian Ocean and among the most destructive in the regionODISHA SUPER CYCLONE 1999. On 29th October 1999, the Super Cyclone , also known as Paradip Cyclone, hit Odisha with wind speeds of up to 250 kmph. It caused the deaths of about 10,000 people, and heavy to extreme damage in its path of destruction.
