The Justice Party was also officially known as the South Indian Liberal Federation.

This Political party played a prominent role in the Madras Presidency during the British Era in India.

It was founded in 1917 by T. M. Nair and P.

Theagaraya Chetty due to the result of a series of non-Brahmin conferences and meetings in the state.

The communal divide between Brahmins and non-Brahmins had begun in the state during the late-19th and early-20th century.

It happened mainly because of caste prejudices and improportionate brahminical representation in governmental jobs.

The foundation of this political party saw the beginning of the culmination of several efforts to establish an organisation that represented the non-Brahmins too in the state.
