tracheal respiration is a type of respiration that is very common in the insects like the cockroaches etc.the small hole present in the cockroach body are called spiracles. these are present in the outer part of the body. there are thin tube like structures present in the body of the the insects.through this trachea the oxygen
and carbon dioxide pases through.

(i) In Insects Blood has no Haemoglobin and is White in colour. Hence it cannot carry Oxygen.

(ii) For Respiration Insects adopt a special system called Tracheal System.

(iii) This system consists of a series of tubes called Trachea.

(iv) These Trachea open out through small Aperture called Spiracles on either side of the body.
