In rural areas now also many people use old irrigation methods like-
1.Dhekli system
2.Rahat system
3.Pulley system
4.Wells
But some now use tubewells, sprinkler system and drip irrigation system..
A vast change has been seen in change in cropping patterns. Now people use crop rotation which involves growing of leguminous plants and rhizobium in its root nodules fixes nitrogen.
Inter cropping is also used nowadays which involves growing of two different crops at the same time in alternative rows and crops are selected in such a way that they do not compete with each other.
Multiple cropping is also used which involves growing of two different crops on the same land and in same season.
