Answer:

A character sketch of Jim Hawkins is answered below.

Explanation:

Character sketch on Jim Hawkins

The youthful narrator, Jim Hawkins, is neither a stereotypical figure nor a particular type of person. Readers can learn the following about him through his acts throughout the book: He tries to warn Billy Bones of Black Dog's arrival; he fears Pew but returns to the inn with his mother; he fantasizes (he tells readers) about the impending journey; he bullies the boy who has taken his job at the inn after realizing he is not indispensable there; and he takes two extremely foolish chances on impulse when he leaves the ship and later leaves the stockade (part of his function in the novel is to act as a symbol for reckless to try to these items, although his greater function is to inform the story). He fights for his life with Israel Hands on the Hispaniola and kills Hands unintentionally (but he was able to kill him on purpose; about this he says nothing). He occasionally starts crying, and once, when he saw Silver kill the crewman Tom, he almost passed out.
