Margot is sixteen year old when Anne's diary begins. She is a quiet, studious and humble girl. They wanted Anne to emulate her elder sister and hold her as a role model. It was Margot who is first called by the SS (German Secret Service) which forced the Franks to go into hiding.

Margot was Anne 's elder sister. She was born in, Frankfurt in 1926.She was a pretty and Smart girl. Anne 's parent, according to Anne, loved Margot more than Anne as she was well - mannered ,studious and reserved in contrast to Anne who was outspoken. Margot had her schooling from a public school. She was a good at Arithmetic and was a brilliant student. Anne was jealous of her as her mother always favoured Margot. Unfortunately, Margot too died of typhus in the concentration camp a few days before Anne died .
