Mrs Van Daan is the wife of Mr Van Daan and the mother of Peter Van Daan.
Her real name is Mrs. Augustus Van Pels. She is the person whom Anne refers to as irritating and complaining. She is the first person in the Annex to get a tooth surgery get done by Mr Dussel, who is a dentist by his profession. She often complains about Anne to be brought up very bad manner and often fights with Anne's mother. She also first flirts with Anne's Father but later starts to flirt with Mr. Dussel. She is one of the most selfish persons living in the Annex after Mr. Dussel. She is often seen fighting with her husband for silly things such as about war, etc. She is the first person in the Annex to die in the concentrtion camp held at the site Belsen. She must have died due to hunger and a disease called typhus in the early February, 1945.
