The twins were the youngest members of the Otis family and were extremely naughty and daring. They were called 'The Stars and Stripes' and were the only true republicans of this family. They kept playing tricks with the Canterville ghost and made him depressed. They threw big pillow on him and shot pellets from their pea shooters. They even scared the ghost by creating a fake image with curtain and sweeping brush. They drenched him in water and set up trip wires and butter slides.  They molested the ghost so much that he stopped making his night appearances. They also immensely loved their elder sister, Virginia, and were awestruck when she was not to be found anywhere.
