ALBERT EINSTEIN.
Albert had a frank and honest temperament and was quite sensitive and emotional. He was considered a rebel by most of his teachers. He did not compromise and adjust to the system of education which encouraged learning without understanding. For him, ideas and enquiry were more important than facts or dates.
Albert's lodgings as well as school made him feel miserable. He hated the school. Going to the lodging didn't cheer him up as he hated the atmosphere of slum violence. He soothed him tired nerves by playing on his violin.
He thought of humanity, of world peace and democracy. All these values in his character made him a global citizen.
Albert Einstein's theory of education is based on reasoning and logic. He believed that education is not about learning facts but thinking about ideas. Education according to him is not something to mug up like remembering the year of battle or any event but the reason why it all started.
A P J ABDUL KALAM.
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in full Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, (born October 15, 1931, Rameswaram, India—died July 27, 2015, Shillong), Indian scientist and politician who played a leading role in the development of India's missile and nuclear weapons programs. He was president of India from 2002 to 2007.
Dr Kalam believed in simple living and high thinking. He was a true patriot, a man who believed in the empowerment of students and made missiles but talked of peace. He firmly believed that educational opportunities should be provided to all children as that was the only way to remove poverty.
In order to add to the family's income, Kalam had to sell newspapers during his early years. He was an average student during his school, but possessed a strong desire to learn and was very hard working. He loved mathematics and spent hours studying the subject.
A boy of ordinary looks, Abdul Kalam had many sterling qualities right from his childhood. He had immense affection and respect for his parents. He inherited the values of honesty and self-discipline from his father and faith in goodness and deep kindness from his mother.
