Kate Adams was the matriarch of Helen Keller. She was wedded to Arthur Keller who was much elder to her. She numbly took care of Helen when she caught the debilitating ailment. Helen recognizes her mother affectionately relieving her pain as she experienced the injury. She was a source of kindness and appreciation for Helen. She grieved endlessly for Helen’s well-being. Often staying till midnight and taking care of her as she screamed. Kate nourished her girls sense of knowledge by making her learn about everyday things. Being connected to her mother, Helen was jealous of her sister for receiving her mother’s affections. The bond between Kate and Helen was very deep. She was someone whom Helen adored and respected profoundly.
