Helen Keller is the author of the memoir The Story of My Life. Left deaf and blind by a childhood illness, Helen grows up into a remarkable adult who is full of life and love for learning, nature, and her friends. She also works tirelessly to educate the public about the rights and needs of people with disabilities. Annie Sullivan is Helen’s patient and determined young teacher from the Perkins Institute for the Blind. Alexander Graham Bell is a famous inventor who recommends the Perkins Institute to Helen’s parents. Dr. Anagnos is the director of the Institute and encourages both Annie and Helen.

Helen Adams Keller was an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree from HARVARD.She set an example of thousands of deaf and blind persons to conquer their handicaps and attain miraculous achievements.She was born on June 27th 1880 at the plantation call IVY GREEN IN TUSCUMBIA . It was in Alabama state of The United States of America. Her father ARTHUR KELLER was a former officer in the Army . Her mother, Kate Adam Keller was a cousin of Robert Lee. The Keller family originated from Switzerland. She was not born blind and deaf, a mysterious disease left her blind and deaf.

The advent of Miss Sullivan was the greatest Moment in the life of Helen.The desire to express herself grew in  her. Before the arrival of Anne Sullivan, she used to communicate through few signs. Helen was a great fighter. She started learn simple words like doll ,pin,hat and few verbs like sit, stand and walk. She was thrilled when the mystery of language was revealed to her. She realised that everything had a name and each name gave birth to a thought.
