The formation of rust requires iron, water and oxygen. Although it's a complex process, the chemical equation is simply 4Fe + 3O2 + 6H2O → 4Fe(OH)3

Answer:

The rusting of Iron(Fe) is-

2Fe + 1.5O2 + 3H2O ➡️ 2Fe(OH)3

2Fe(OH)3 ➡️ Fe2O3.nH2O

Fe2O3.nH2O is the chemical formula of rust on iron.
