when any metal among Potassium(K), Sodium(Na), Calcium(Ca), Magnesium(Mg), Aluminium(Al), Zinc(Zn), Iron(Fe), Lead(Pb)

It liberates H+ ion and produces a salt of metal.

For example , If Magnesium reacts with HCl

Mg + HCl -----> MgCl₂ + H₂

here, MgCl₂ is the salt of metal and H₂ is the hydrogen gas.

The overall reaction would be,

Metal + HCl ----> Salt of Metal + hydrogen gas(H_{2} )

Hope this helped you...
