Dear Sergeant Jones,
I have lived in Mayberry for approximately 25 years. It’s a wonderful small town, and I’ve always admired the Mayberry Police Department for their quick response to emergencies and their dedication to the community.
On May 22, 2018, at approximately 4:30 PM, my 16-year-old daughter (Robin) and I were walking home from an event my daughter had at school. We were halfway home on Main Street and BlackBerry Lane when Officer Brooks stopped us and asked where we were going. I thought it odd, but I told him we had just come from an event and we were going home. The officer appeared to be under the influence of something his breath smelled of alcohol and he had a weird look on his face. He then proceeded to tell my daughter how sexy she was and took his right hand and placed it on her buttocks under her dress. I was appalled, and my daughter screamed. Fortunately it was rush-hour, and her scream drew attention. When Officer Brooks saw people looking at him, he ran and got in his patrol vehicle which was parked 20 feet from where we were standing.
I would like to file a formal complaint on behalf of my daughter. I would like this matter to be investigated regarding the inappropriate behavior made by Officer Brooks. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email, and I will gladly provide further information.
Sincerely,
Maria B. Hunter
