Dear student,

A visit to the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan is an exhilarating touristic as well as spiritual experience. Famous for its monasteries, suspension bridges and beautiful landscapes, it mesmerised me as it does anyone who visits its hills and valleys. I had gone with a group of friends, and we all enjoyed our stay.

The flight lands in Paro, and the onward journey is through meandering roads over hills. We saw the Taschicho Dzong Monastory, The Rinpung Dzong Monastory, the Punakha suspension bridge, Chele La Pass and many more tourist attractions. Punakha suspension bridge is made of thick ropes and is one of its kind in the world. The 56 feet tall statue of Budha at Budha Dordenma was breathtaking, set against the short hills over which the sunlight plays with its rays every morning. One of the snow covered motorable pass also connects this place with India, but the roads are treacherous and only for the brave of heart!

As serene were the natural settings, so was the attitude of people towards life. They measured their success through a ‘National Happiness Index’, and we learnt that the crime rate in that country was almost zero percent.

Having greatly enjoyed the holiday all of us came back with camera full of pictures, all capturing the scenic beauty of Bhutan.

Regards

Answer:

This winter will always remain unforgettable throughout my life. My father took us to the beautiful hill staion of Shimla. Keats has rightly said 'A thing of a beauty is a joy forever.' My first experience with something real beautiful happened, when in the last week my father took the family to Shimla at the weekend. The drive  to Shimla was a real treat to the eyes. On either side of the serpentine road breathtaking vistas of unmatched sylvan beauty soothed not only the eyes, but the restive soul also. Deep dells, with pure verdant slopes; idyllic, pastoral human settlements, glimpses of the far off white sheep grazing on the slopes of the mountains under the canopy of azure sky are the enthralling views one gets as a gift for coming to this paradise. I did not want the drive to end. As we neared Shimla, the mountains became taller and taller. The peace, tranquility, and spledour of Shimla and its surroundings were supernal. My father had intentionally got a hotel booked at a place where the nature was abundant. From the room window, the distant snow clad white mountains gave the illusion as if we are in a different world. At night we went on foot to the Mall road for dinner. First time in my life I saw the magnificence of the night sky. I did not know there were so many stars in the sky. Then the most wonderful thing happened! It began to snow. The cotton like flakes began to fall all around us.
