Answer:
I visited Ooty last year along with my friends during the summer holidays. It is a hill station situated in the Tamil Nadu state of India. I have attended several hill stations such as Nainital, Pahalgam, Munnar, Gulmarg and Dalhousie before visiting Ooty.
Since childhood, I have been fond of hill stations because of the breath-taking scenic beauty and the cold climate it withholds. The history behind every hill station is enchanting and captivating, which entices me to visit them every year. It took one day five hours to reach Ooty by train from Mumbai.
As soon as we arrived, we hired a car to contact our hotel. We spent the night at the hotel. Next day, we woke up early morning headed to the hotel restaurant to have our breakfast and start our journey. The coffee and the dosa we had for breakfast were delectable. The first place that we visited was the Government Botanical garden near Coimbatore.
The Garden is divided into several sections where a variety of flowers bloom and seems to be an excellent location for photography. Then we went to Ooty boathouse in the Nilgiris which offers boating facilities to tourists. The view that we witness while boating was bewitching. After that, we took a halt at a local restaurant to have our afternoon meal. One thing which I loved the most in the restaurant was that they served food on a banana leaf which was eco-friendly and healthy. Once our lunch was done, we headed to visit the famous Rose garden, which presents more than twenty thousand variety of roses.
We returned to the hotel and rested for the night. Next day was our last day in Ooty, so we visited the tea museum and factory where they produce good quality tea and Toda huts made by the Toda tribal people. The unique feature of the shelter is that it doesn’t have windows and are very low in height. It is one of the indigenous tribes of Ooty who depend upon farming. These were some places we visited during our short visit, but there are much more left, which we decided to revisit next year. All of us were enthralled by the view and the weather it houses.
