A person I will never forget

  • Today has been the most memorable day of my life where I feel very blessed and lucky to have my mother always there for me. It is not that I do not feel that way each day, but today has been one of those best days of my life. My mother has and is always the most influential and significant person in my life, a very strong individual. I have a profound admiration for her in my heart. Her diligent nature and the ethics and morals she has, charms me all the more. She works hard for my family and takes care of everyone. Today, I was at my lowest phase wherein I had performed very badly in my semester exams.
  • Seeing all my friends doing well, it was extremely saddening for me to have scored such bad marks. I always work hard and is very particular about my studies; however this time I failed to meet my expectations. I felt ashamed thinking how people who know me that I study well would react or comment. How my friends and relatives would look upon me, etc. In the midst of all these confusions and agony, my mother who was watching me came up to me and placed her hands on my head, lovingly caressing my hair. She never asked me what my problem was, since she knew it without me telling it. She gave a piece of advice, that life is not all about getting the best always - there would be failures and ups and downs. What matters is not how we enjoy success, but how we deal with failures, since dealing with failures is not that easy.
  • She spoke to me in length about why at times failures are important and how they groom us to for a better future. As she kept speaking, the agony in me eased down, and I started feeling better and in a while I went back to my usual happy-go-lucky girl. Rather than reprimanding me for my poor marks, my mother took it very causally and at the same time she told me that I should not be complacent with my efforts and that is what made me get poor marks. I should work harder each time and better my own efforts to achieve what I desire, while facing few failures too. Today l learnt a very important lesson of life and I am thankful to my mother for this and I can say that mons are the best! It is a mother in everybody’s life who can never be replaced from our heart
