I have never gone through such a horrifying experience. My parents went for a wedding in Chandigarh. I had my practical exam, so they decided to leave me alone at home. It was the first time when I was going to stay all alone at home and I had a kind of mixed feeling. On the one hand, I felt I was not a child, I could manage it, but on the other hand, there was an unknown fear that lurked whenever I set and thought about it.
I felt a little hungry in the evening and thinking that mom was not there to stop me from eating Maggi, I planned to make Maggi, but when I looked inside the box, it wasn't there. I wore my slippers and went to buy Maggi and left my pet Mink in the garden. When I came back, I shouted out his name, but there was no sign of him. A cold chill ran through my spine, what if there are thieves inside! What if Mink has been kidnapped and the next it was my turn! Such weird thoughts kept striking me and I forgot all about my hunger. I wished that Mink had gone only to the next door neighbor chasing their cat, and I desperately wished it to be true. My eyes welled up with tears. All of a sudden I missed my parents and realized what it is to live under their protective shield.
Before my mind could wander to more wild ideas, there came my next door neighbor's little daughter Lizzy who was holding Mink in his clutch. I can't explain in words the relief I got seeing them. I invited her to my house and we both made and ate Maggi together with Milk showing his feats to impress my little guest.
