Boarding Schools are better than Day Schools

Everything in life has its pros and cons. Similarly, the topic of comparison between boarding schools and day schools is also a very tricky one. Each institution has its own advantages as well as disadvantages. We cannot with finality pass judgement as to which out of either is better?  Let’s weigh the pros and cons of both of them.

A major advantage of the boarding school experience is the fact that the learning never stops. Your child is immersed in an educational environment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and even when they’re outside the classroom, they’re still learning important life skills that they wouldn’t learn through sitting at home in the evenings and at weekends. The extra-curricular activities at boarding schools are almost certainly far more extensive than those at a day school. This means that your children will have numerous opportunities to get involved in new hobbies, thereby developing non-academic skills that will be valuable for the real world. Boarding schools make the love bond between parents and the students stronger as they see less of each other every day. Going to boarding school cultivates self-reliance, getting your child used to the idea of being away from home.

There are some disadvantages of boarding schools also. The harsh discipline and lack of home comforts associated with boarding school often cause adjustment problems to the students. Homesickness is likely to at some point or another, at least in the beginning. Besides, everybody cannot afford the high costs of education of boarding schools.

The day schools also have many advantages. The first and foremost advantage is children can be with their parents every day, there is no prolonged separation between the two. They can share, discuss, and solve their personal or other issues they might be facing. The day schools are quite affordable as compared to boarding schools.

Some of the disadvantages of day schools can be children demanding their parents’ attention and help in doing their assignments or other projects and the parents’ inability to help them on account of their busy schedule. Some less educated parents might find it hard to assist their children in any manner.

So you see, it is very difficult to pass a judgement concerning which is better out of the two!
