These words could of any Parent/ Teacher/Friend/ Partner or anybody who is close to that person to whom those words are meant.

The main idea of story is that person who is asking for sorry had been discouraging that person and kept saying that he/she can't achieve success in whatever that person doing. Even insulted him/her in front of everyone (can be any group either friends/relatives/students) and even denied for support. Though it may seems to us that person is not helpful at all neither supportive but to add twist in story you can add something like that person is trying to keep him/her away from himself because he is suffering from some incurable disease....or something like that and have lost faith in life so that's why opted for such attitude.

Now on the day of success of that person..he/she writes to him/her that "I wish you all success. I am sorry. I shall not come. Please forgive me for everything".

You start from those words and write rest of the story in flashback format.
