Interviewer:- Hello audience we wish you all a happy may day. Today on the account of may day we have a labourer who is ready to share his feelings in this special interview. Hello sir.
Labourer:- Hello sir, Happy may day to all the audience.I'm happy to be here and share my feelings and problems faces by a common labourer.
Interviewer:- We shall begin our show with a little introduction. So sir can u share with us about your family, children, daily expenditure and your daily needs etc.
Labourer:- My name is Ramesh and I'm from a small backward village named Palampur.I work as a labourer in a nearby town in a chemical factory. I get a monthly expenditure of 2000rupees which is insufficient to meet the daily needs. I have 2 sons and a daughter and none of them is a literate. My sons are also working as a labourers in the same factory while my daughter stays in home and helps my wife.
Interviewer:- Sir, could you explain our audience about may day and why is it celebrated?
Labourer:- Surely, May day is the day of workers and labourers. Infact it is a public holiday for the hard work done by workers throughout the year.
Interviewer:-Thank you sir Sir, on the whole you are earning 8000 rupees for youe family. Is it sufficient for all of your family needs?
Labourer:-Not really. My father is a TB patient and he needs treatment which is of very high cost. We spent money as far as we could but we couldnt save him. Not only my father today in the society most of the common employee or labourer' s situation is the same.
Interviewer:- Sir, can you explain our audience some of the problems faces by common labourers?
Labourer:- Surely, we daily come across some difficulties in our life.They might problems caused due to lack of sufficient money which include no proper medical treatment , unable to meet daily needs , no proper food etc. Some other problems include stress due to excess work etc.
Interviwer:- Sir, how many hours do you work per day?
Labourer:- Most probably I work for 6 to 7 hours per day and if any excess work required we work up to 10 hours like that. It all depends on the amount of work. But althoight we work so long if required we get paid same amount of salary.
Interviewer:- Sir, what kind of problems due to face due to this kind of excessive work?
Labourer:- we face some kind of problems like stress, tired, some times we will have fever, headache etc. At that time we will not be able to eat also.
Interviewer:-Sir,your labourer community consists of people of what ages?
Labourer:- Our labour community consists of people of ages between 25-60.
Interviewer:- Sir, in that case it would be very difficult to people of age 50-60 to do the work. How could they manage?
Labourer:- Yeah, you are right.They are often easily prone to problems like sickness, stress and often faint. But they still continue their work to make their living. Sometimes it is very sad to see them doing like that. But these problems are caused only due to poverty.
Interviewer:- Sir, do your company organise some kind of competitions, get togethers etc to encourage workers?
Labourer:-Well, yeah, my company conducts some kind of competitions and get together every year to raid the competition spirit and to encourage workers. Often , people are awarded for their performance.
Interviewer:-Sir, what role does the government play in ensuring your salary, health and other facilities?
Labourer:- The government mostly tries to implement schemes for farmers . Sometimes some schemes are helpful to us also but not much.
Interviewer:-Sir, do you want to convey any message to you fellow citizens?
Labourer:- Yeah, every occupation has it's own importance. Each occupation is great because all profession mostly have the hard Work of workers behind it. So never try to criticise or try to lower the people doing small scale jobs.

Labourer : "I'm Ramesh from Bihar. I'm a common labour, a rickshaw puller here."
Interviewer : "Are you alone here or with you your family?"
Labourer : "I'm here with my small family, 1 wife, 1 daughter and 1 son."

Labourer : "No, this rickshaw is not my own, I'm a very poor man. I'm unable to buy a rickshaw. So, I hire it from a rickshaw-owner. I cannot work all the twenty-four hours. So, I hire it for the day or the night.
Interviewer : "How much money you pay as rent for this?"
Labourer : "For this, I pay Rs. 15.00 as rent. I pay my due everyday to the rickshaw-owner."
Interviewer : "How much is your daily earning?"
Labourer : "My daily earning is Rs. 50-75.
Interviewer : "Why you do this job?"
Labourer : "Obviously, I do this job to earn money to run my house and to pay fees of my children's school. To fulfil my small family wishes to make them family happy and to take care of my family by my small earnings. As I'm uneducated, I need to do this job. Finally, I know the value of education."
Interviewer : "What are the problems faced by you while pulling a rickshaw?"
Labourer : "There are so many problems which I faced while pulling a rickshaw like the problem of heat of the sun and sweat in summer, the problem of rainfall and dirt due to rain in rainy season, etc."
Interviewer : "Is there any loss due to this problem?"
Labourer : "Yes, due to this problem, most of the passanger left my rickshaw due to which there is loss in my earnings too."
Interviewer : "When you started this job?"
Labourer : "I started this job 5 years ago."
Interviewer : "Is this job is easy or hard for you?"
Labourer : "This job is hard for me but I know that hardwork is the key to success, so I'm still doing this job. As I already told you I'm a very poor man and uneducated, so there is no other job available for me."
