Younger Brother: Dad, I would like to have some more pocket money from the following month.
Dad: But, why son? I am already giving you Rs.200/- per month and I think that is more than enough for a 13-year-old.
Brother: I am not able to buy even my favorite game. All my favorite items cost much more than my pocket money.
Dad: Then, I think I am doing the right thing. You have to learn to live within your means.
Brother: Does that mean I should not have what I would like to own?
Dad: You can definitely have them. But, only if you really need them and those things do not harm anyone.
Brother: So, I understand you will definitely not give me some more money.
Dad: Exactly, but I can help you get your favorite game with your pocket money.
Brother: How do I do it? Please tell me.
Dad: It is very simple. Instead of spending your pocket money fully every month on trivial things, save part of it every month. If possible, even a full month’s earning. Then, when you get your allowance next month, you will have more than before. Do this for a few months till you have enough for your game. Then you can buy what you want.
Brother: That is a wonderful idea, Dad. I will surely do what you say. Thank you very much for the advice.
