I have read many books of many writters .Pather Pachali is one of them.
It's a novel which is written by Bibhutibhusan Bandopaddhay.Books
are the mirror of our society.This book describes the social and economical life of 18th century.The main characters of the book are Harihar,his wife Sharbajaya,son Apu, daughter Durga and grand parent Indir Thakrun.Harihar is very poor and he had to struggle to maintain his family.Durga died a premature death without proper treatment.Indir Thakrun was very helpless.Harihar's family represents the socio-economic condition of that period.This is the main feature of the novel.Even today this type of family can be seen.This is why, this novel has impressed me very much. If you read the book then I think you will also be impressed.
