Glad that you are coming to Bhutan for the first time. October is a great time to be in Bhutan with great weather conditions. Its the most popular tourism month with highest arrivals. This is also because we have some nice festivals that you could witness, the Jambay Lhakhang drup festival starting from Oct 18, Prakhar Tsechu starting from Oct 19. The former is a very popular festival which I think is worth experiencing. A two-week holiday should also allow for some nice light day hikes around Thimphu, Phobjikha or Bumthang.
