Today we celebrated Makar Sankranti very happily
Makara Sankranti is a winterharvest festival celebrated throughout India. It is an important Hindu festivalwhich is celebrated as a thanks giving ceremony for the year's harvest. It is
dedicated to the Sun.
My father cut the sugarcane anddistributed its pieces to everyone. My mother cooked new rice. She boiled rice,milk and jaggery.
There was a party in the evening. All our relatives andfriends came to meet us. There were a lot of traditional dishes which we allenjoyed. We had a lot of fun. New clothes and gifts were given to everyone.
