Debate: Against the motion.
"The road to success cannot be a spoon-feeding process. It can only be created by your hard work."
Good Morning! Today, I Diksha Verma, have been provided with a golden opportunity to express my opinions, against the motion on "Admission to top-notch institutes guarantees a successful career."
Success! Success! Success!
What is success?
Some of you will say: success is an accomplishment of a goal. Some of you will say: success is the outcome of a dedicated plan. Some of you will say: success is the result of hard work.
But, is that all?
Off course, you all are right at your places. These words can define success. But, I would like to brief success to you in my words.
According to me:- "Success is an emotion. An emotion, which portrays the calmness on my face, in my mind and my heart. Why ? Because, I hear a sound within myself - "Yes, I did it." It is a feeling of triumph and self-satisfaction because my hard work, my efforts, my sleepless nights, my early mornings, actually paid me off one day."
Success can be a long-term goal or it can be a long-term goal divided into short-term goals. We should plan for the goal we aim. If everything goes as expected, then good for you but don't let this make you arrogant. But, what if it goes the other way round?
We all struggle in our life. For now, let's focus on the youth.
Almost every student has a dream of getting into top-notch institutes for which they work hard. We have aspirants from every field, whether it be Science, or Commerce or Arts. Some aspire to become engineers, or doctors, or entrepreneurs, or designers, or IAS/IFS Officers and what not.
We all work hard to get the best percentage in 12th or an excellent AIR in competitive exams so that we can make our way to the renowned institutes. We all have a perception that if we get into top-notch institutes then our career is secured by 100%.
Well, to some extent it can be satisfactory to say that, as top-notch institutes open doors to various opportunities which can lead to having a successful career. But, do they guarantee it? The answer is 'NO'.
No institute can guarantee you a safe and successful career.
If it was true then
- There would be no such student, from a normal college pursuing engineering and got a placement in crore, in a dream company. But, we do have such a case. Last year, a student who wasn't able to get a good score In JEE, took admission in a normal college in Mumbai which was not well-known. But, due to his active mind and good knowledge in his field, he got the offer of a dream placement. We have other similar cases as well.
- There would have been no news of suicide cases due to study pressures which took place in the renowned institutes of medical and non-medical.
- There would be no drop-out who now have turnovers in crores. But we have, in our India: Like Kailash Katkar (CEO of Quick Heal Technologies), Bhavin Turakhia (CEO of Flock, Radix, CodeChef and Zeta) etc.
If top universities, would have guaranteed a 100% successful career then we might not be able to have above cases, but we do have. No college prospectus will mention you a guarantee of a job or a profound career. Your success depends on your strategy mixed with your hard work, your efforts, and your failures.
Success is never an easy process. Success only comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
No institute can guarantee you anything. Even if you get admission in one of the best universities and you don't work hard there then the hard work you did to get admission into that university goes futile.
So,
Believe in yourself, believe in your efforts, and one day you will be successful no matter where you study.
Work hard and show this world your calibre.
Thank you for being a proficient listener!

Nowadays, every individual seeks to be one step ahead of every one else, especially when it comes to higher education and careers. Ask say twelfth grade student about his or her dream college, and they will be bound to mention at least three of the best colleges in their respective discipline.
