For:

Malls are a sign of man's development and progress in an ever-changing world of ours. The more developed and advanced a country is, the better things they have got, better facilities, a better quality of living. Likewise, the rise of malls in our country also signifies that we are developing and changing from our primitive, old fashioned ways of living into a much more organized and 'classy' way of living and socializing. Moreover, they also provide a good atmosphere and socializing space for meeting with friends. They also enable people to get numerous things in a single place, with no need to travel to and fro between shops. Malls also teach us how to be socially presentable, for we always dress presentably whenever we go to malls.

Against:

Though malls may be a good place to hang out with friends and do our shopping in a single place, the drawbacks are also devastating. Firstly, malls have such high prices for their items that they are most often only affordable for the rich. The enticing nature of the products on display also leads many youngsters to buy the things they do not need. This in turn leads to the wastage of money, which at times, turns out to be money given by parents. Also, mall culture also can make a person addicted to such "high-class" places that a person may not want to shop anywhere else. This will become a problem for the small scale chops who couldn't afford to rent a space in the malls.  It also ends up being the hangout zone for most students who will skip their classes and instead go to these malls and pass the time.
