Debate on Success is not final but Failure is not fatal

Good morning respected jury, my worthy opponents, my fellow debaters and the House. I would like to speak for the motion ‘success is not final but failure is not fatal’.

Man can never create his destiny however hard he tries. Many a time he is confronted with situations he is totally unprepared for. Opportunities often come his way in a manner where success is obvious but the result is just the opposite. For example Team India’s position in the cricket World Cup this year. Success was almost ours.

We were playing wonderfully and were the predictable winners. But the denouement was completely different. Our success failed to be the final. At the same time our failure was not fatal. We got over the loss and are back in form. Same was the case with the Kiwis in the World Cup Final.

Though they could not gain success for Destiny had other plans yet failure did not destroy them. After all failures are the pillars of success. Thus I firmly believe ‘success is not final but failure is not fatal’.
