A water park:If you are a thrill seeker, then the striking Chimelong water park situated in Guangzhou is the heaven where you are sure to get magnetised. The first time I had travelled there with my siblings my eyes got dazzled as if a flash grenade just went off right in front of me owing to the miscellaneous, thrilling slides and rides in the spacious resort, almost the size of three Hong Kong stadiums. The well-designed resort consists of quite a number of breathtaking facilities such as the trumpet-shaped Boomerango and the curly Python ride surrounding the central wave pool like a python wrapping its prey. The most heart-bounding and sensational slide was the one in which I had to climb six-storeys high and then slid down from the highest point slowly like a train engine just starting but accelerating swiftly midway as I went into free fall and then dove to the bottom. The next destination was simply a few feet away from where I finished so I could go on to the next game without wasting much energy. They have overwhelming rides and slides to keep you as busy as a bee for the day without needing to repeat a ride so it is wise to refresh yourself from the ubiquitous food stalls or carts provided in the park. I found myself unable to resist the lure of the spicy and peppery smell of pork chops mixed with parsnips when getting closer to the peddlers, pretty much like a wolf sniffing its food.It will not count as having been there if you have never been to the enormous wave pool in the centre of the park. There are countless numbers of people lying on four-leaf hovercrafts who eagerly await the intermittent and artificially generated tidal wave, thunderously screaming on and off as if a disaster happened. I can recall that the wave can reach 3 metres high simulating to a real-life, but less devastating, tsunami.Apart from the excitement described above, there are some ergonomically-designed sun lounges where you can sit back during the daytime to refill your energy, drifting relaxingly on the meandering river sandwiched between the circular outer parts and the centre.Entertaining performances, from time to time, take place in the evenings, near the sought-after food stalls, so that you can take delight in the eye-catching events while relishing a bottle of icy coca cola and a tub of mouth-watering, crispy popcorn in your hands. My eyes nearly popped out of my skull when one of the performers walked barefoot from one side to the other on a sizzling, fiery burning log.My adrenalin got going like forever and my heart was like a drum throbbing so fast for the whole day.
During my last summer vacation, I paid a visit to Shimla where my elder brother lives. He is a forest officer there. I planned to go there in summer as the plains at that time are very hot. I boarded the Kalka Mail at Amritsar on the 15th of June. Our train reached Kalka at 5:30 next morning. Then I changed for Shimla. Our journey to Shimla was through hilly area. The train took a zig-zag track. The air was cool, fresh and pleasant. I felt that it was quite different from the scorching heat of Amritsar. The scenery on the either side of railway track was very charming. The train passed through several tunnels. I reached Shimla at about 2 p.m. My elder brother and my sister in law were at the Shimla station to receive me. Then we hired a coolie and went to my brother’s residence. I saw various places. I saw roller skating in the skating hall. It was a new thing for me. I also saw the skating ring at the Annandale grounds. I visited the Ridge and the Mall every evening. I also visited Mash bra, Yahoo, Summer Hill and Tara Devi. At Tara Devi I saw monkeys of various sizes and shapes. It was quite amusing to watch them. I also visited places like thereof and chili
I went out for long walk every morning and evening. I inhaled the healthful mountain air. Going up and coming downhill gave me a good exercise.
