first of all let use clear that what is hydrogen economy-

using of hydrogen for fuel purpose is called hydrogen economy.

as hydrogen is very light,it can be used in rockets, hydrogen is easily available, though it is a ideal FUEL and the processes of using of hydrogen is very easy. For a developing country like India,it is like a boom because it is less expensive than other options.

this is called hydrogen economy..

Answer:

Explanation:

It's the idea of using hydrogen as an energy carrier for major uses such as vehicles and perhaps powering industry, offices, and homes.

The main competitors are electricity  and methane / natural gas

Electricity is already pretty good except that batteries weren't cheap and light enough to power cars for long enough range; but Tesla and others appear to be solving this.

We haven't tried to decarbonize aviation yet, and liquid hydrogen fuel is a good candidate for this.

Hydrogen is a storage medium. There are no sources (on Earth) of hydrogen that is not compounded with some other element, such as water, H2O, or methane, CH4.

It takes energy to separate the hydrogen from the compound. Quite a lot of energy if you are starting with H2O.

You can get some of that energy back by combining the hydrogen with oxygen again. Fuel cells can be pretty efficient - and that allows you to use hydrogen + fuel cell much like a rechargeable/refuelable battery.

So the “hydrogen economy” is competing with batteries (mostly) as a portable energy
