Prospero is a fictional character and protagonist of William Shakespeare's play Tempest.
Prospero is the rightful Duke of Milan who has been overpowered by his own brother Antonio and had put him and his daughter Miranda out in the sea on a "rotten carcass" of a boat to die.Prospero and Miranda survived and found exile in a small island.He learns magic from books and practises it to protect the island and control other characters.He finds Ferdinand a perfect live partner for Miranda and also forgives his brother.
In the end of the play Antonio decides to return all his dukedom back to Prospero.
Prospero drowns his book into the ground and renounce magic and set Ariel free as per his promise.
