Plantation crops are the crops which are grown commercially on a large area as a cash crops.

Rice,tea,coffee,tea,coconut are example of plantation crops.

Reasons for transplantation:-

Some crops requires more care in the initial stages of growing. So, for the proper handling they are grown in nursery for the final transplantation in the main field

Some crops are shallow root system,so once they acquire the age of 25 30 days in nursery,then they are transplanted.

It enhance the quality of the produce alongwith it keep weed infestation away from the field.
