Heya !
=> Glacial lake-Lake which is originated from melted glaciers.Eg.Chandra Tal, Lake Tsongmo, Kedartal etc.
=> Artificial lake-It is created by flooding land behind a dam also called an impoundment of water or reservoir.Eg. Guru Gobind Sagar, Dhebar Lake etc.
=> Ox bow lake-It is formed when a wide meander from a river is cut off to form a lake.Eg, Purbasthali oxbow lake, Kanwar oxbow Lake etc.
=> Lagoon lake-A body of shallow sea water or brackish water separated from the ocean by barrier islands or reefs .Eg.Chilika lake, Pulicat lake etc.
=> Salt lake-It is formed where there is no natural outlet or where the water evaporates more than precipitation and higher than normal salt content is found in the drainage surface of the water table. Eg.Sambhar lake, lagoon lakes are also saline water lakes like Chilika lake etc.
=> Fresh water lake-Lakes which have fresh water supply or naturally occurring water from ice sheets, ice caps, glaciers, icebergs, bogs, underground streams, tectonic movement etc.Eg.Dal lake,Bhimtal,Nanital lake, wular lake, Kolleru lake etc.
