Answer:

Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants and artificial photosynthesis.[1][2]

Explanation:

It is an important source of renewable energy and its technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar depending on how they capture and distribute solar energy or convert it into solar power. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic systems, concentrated solar power and solar water heating to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light-dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air.

Answer:

Increased use of solar energy in our daily lives can reduce the load on the consumption of electricity:

It reduces up to 50% of the electric cost because solar power is available in plenty in India and the consumer needs to pay only for the electric power used during nights when there is not enough sunshine to generate the required solar power. So the consumers no need to pay for the solar energy that is nature’s gift to us from the sun. The consumers can opt for lesser electric grid from the government which will reduce their electric installation and consumption costs.

The government provides subsidy to install a solar power unit and also entitles the consumer for a tax credit.

There is not much maintenance cost required to maintain the solar panels unlike the electric cables laid by the government that requires a lot of maintenance.

Solar energy is a renewable green source of energy and highly suitable for Indian climate.
