Here are some of the ways by which AI has helped in the campaign season -

1) By analysing the unique psychographic and behavioural user profiles of voters; Artificial Intelligence is being used to persuade people to vote for a specific candidate or even create a bias against that candidate’s opponent.

2) The QR code enabled digital photo voter slips will save a lot of time during the polling day. “Voters will be provided with digital photo voter slips for the first time. The slips will have a QR code. Earlier, a lot of time was wasted in finding out voters' names in the electoral rolls. The new QR code technology will help save that time.

3) In India during the Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Modi used a hologram of himself to do virtual rallies at several places targeting different sets of people simultaneously. This hologram was powered by AI. Political parties and candidates all over the world have started using social media channels to target different groups of voters with different messaging.

A political party is able to influence the citizenry to vote for their respective candidates. It goes without saying that technology today is playing a huge role in the ability to exert precise influence.
