Daughter: Hooray! Mom I won the
first prize at the elocution contest!
Mother: That’s great! I knew you
would do it.
Daughter: How Mom?
Mother: I saw you practice day and
night.
Daughter: Thanks also to you! You
helped me a lot. You heard my speech hundreds of time! You corrected my
pronunciation, intonation, and pauses.
Mother: The script of the speech
was good too!
Daughter: Yes Mom! Thanks to my English teacher who wrote such a wonderful
script.
Mother: I hope you did not feel
nervous at the stage on seeing the audience!
Daughter: Initially I felt a
flutter of nervousness! But I followed your tips! I did not think about the
audience; I just focused on my speech only. I just thought about my script, pronunciation,
intonation, and pauses tips. I maintained the calmness of my mind; and most importantly,
God helped me deliver a perfect speech.
Mother: It is true God helps those
who help themselves. Well done my daughter!
