I am posting the same answer (written by me) here too.
Man: I do not see the point of your HeForShe campaign.
Emma: I can help with that. Is there anything in particular that you find confusing?
Man: Yes. Campaigns should be positive, but your campaign focusses on women's rights.
Emma: Yes, and that is why it is positive.
Man: No. When you fight for women's rights, you are fighting against men. So, it is a man-hating campaign as well!
Emma: No, you are misunderstanding it all.
Man: No, I am not. If you are more for women, obviously, you are lesser in favour of men. So, ultimately it boils down to man-hating.
Emma: That is incorrect. The name of the campaign itself has 'He' in it. Men are an important part of it. In fact, without support from men, the campaign cannot be successful.
Man: I still think you want men to give up a lot of things just to make women more comfortable.
Emma: Well, I see it this way. If men and women are to stay together, in each family, and men and women both empower each other, society will change for the good.
Man: It still is about men adjusting more than ever before.
Emma: Let me ask you something. If you get paid 3000 pounds a month and your colleague gets 2000 for the same amount of work, is it fair?
Man: No.
Emma: So, if your colleague starts getting the same amount as you, should it hurt you?
Man: No.
Emma: That is what I am saying. It's about equality for women. The men don't lose anything, but women get what they deserve, like equal pay. Would you still call that man-hating?
Man: Now I understand. I have definitely been misunderstanding it all. Sorry!
Emma: That's fine. Just be sure to support our campaign.
Man: I will.
Emma: Thank you!
