Write a dialogue between Mr. and Mrs. Mallard, in which they discuss their relationship. How would Mrs. Mallard try to explain to her husband why she does not feel free in her marriage to him? What would Mr. Mallard say in response? What would be the result of this dialogue? What strategies might Mrs. Mallard use to try to convince Mr. Mallard of her position?

Answer:

The following is a dialogue between Mr. and Mrs. Mallard discussing their relationship.

Explanation:

Mrs. Mallard : Bred, honey,  I want to talk to you.

Mr. Mallard : Sure, love, but I’m kind of caught up now. Is it anything important?

Mrs. Mallard : Yes, it is important. It is about me.

Mr. Mallard : Are you alright? I hope you’re not sick or anything. Shaun and Sean have their exams coming up, and I can’t afford them to do bad at it.

Mrs.Mallard : Yes, Bred, I am alright. This is about how I’m feeling. I don’t feel free in our relationship, I feel I want to work. I have always felt so. Never meant to be a housewife.

Mr. Mallard: What?! Have you thought this through? Are you not happy at home? What’ll happen to our children?!

Mrs. Mallard : Yes, Bred, I have thought this through, and no, I’m not happy this way. Our children are old enough to take care of themselves.

Mr. Mallard : Oh, this is huge. I need a while to process this.

Mrs. Mallard : Take your time, but I was only letting you know. Not asking for your permission.

Mr. Mallard : Sure, Liz, I understand.
