Need of developing civic sense in the children

Mother : Have you read this article on today's newspaper?

Father : Which article? Kindly show it to me.

Mother : This one, it's saying that according to a recent social research, the presence of civic sense is declining with every newer generation. It's also saying that the current bad condition of our society is just the beginning and this will continue further, due to continuous lack of civic sense in the newer generations.

Father : Yes, I have already read the article. Its really a horrifying thing for our nation.

Mother : The newer generations are the future of our nation, we have to direct them in the positive direction in order to save their future and to save our own nation.

Father : Right you are. In this situation, we should give more effort on the education process of teaching the proper civic sense and other necessary moral values. The current formal education system, is not enough to build a good social mindset among our children.

Mother : I think it is not completely possible for the school or colleges to teach such social values. Parents are the one who can contribute to this matter and give proper knowledge of social values to their own children.

Father : It's my opinion also. And, I have already planned to give the knowledge of civic senses and moral values to our son.

Mother : Its our duty, to do so. Because in the future our son's behaviour towards the society will reflect the culture of his family. His good social mindset will help to accelerate this own development and for that our family will be proud for him.

Father : But, I am just thinking that how will we conduct this in the practical life. Like, we cannot just sit and tell him to memorize all the rules and moral values.

Mother : Yes, we can't proceed in the way of formal education system. In this case, we have to take the help of the society itself.

Father : I don't understand, please make it clear.

Mother : For example, we will take our son to different places, where social gatherings are very common. He will meet new people, and he will interact with them. By continuous interaction he will improve his social mindset. And we as the parents, will guide him to choose the learnings from the positive interactions.

Father : That's a fantastic idea. After the establishment of good social mindset in his personality, the other civic senses and moral values will be automatically implemented in his personality, as the right thing to do.

Mother : Thats my point. The society will be the medium to teach how to deal with the society as a responsible citizen. And, for other direct knowledge providing situations, like why and when we should pay tax to our government, why we keep our surroundings clean ; the formal school education is enough.

Father : Right you are.

Mother : So, we can come to a conclusion that civic sense in a proper amount and other necessary moral values are extremely important in anyone's character. And that's why it should be implemented from the very young age.

Father : You are absolutely correct.

Mother : So, we promise to each other, that we will try our best, to develop the necessary civic senses and moral values in our son.

Father : We definitely will. Its for the future of our own son and for our country. So, we have to do it!
